Sickness foils our weekend again!

Posted by Jason

We have been continuing our battle to overcome strep throat. This last weekend we lost the battle, but we are still winning the war! Both Makenzie & Chandler caught a second dose of strep throat which is very unusual the doctor said. I haven't been sick in several years and this time around I got strep throat as well. Jamie is still getting over her strep throat that has stayed with her extra long. Long story short, after a whole lot of co-pays and many prescriptions at the pharmacy, we are all feeling better this Monday morning. We've all been in the house together since Friday morning.

The upside to all of this is the time we've been able to spend together. We played board games and read books and played video games. I'm three levels away from beating an awesome game for the Wii called World of Goo. It's one of the coolest video games I've played. I'll put the trailer for it below. If you love puzzle games I totally recommend it. It has some of the best physics I've seen in a video game. Thank goodness were all feeling better. Life can go on now!

Photos from the past

Posted by Jason

I was organizing some photos the other day and I found a couple pictures of when my kids were young. It's amazing how time fly's. These both made me smile! See if you can guess what Makenzie is drinking.

Make your vote count

Posted by Jason

Today is the big day. By this evening we will know who the next president is. It's kind of a weird feeling since this campaign has been going on for so long. Here in California we have a lot of important issues to vote on including proposition 8 which has been a huge hot button issue over the last couple months throughout the state. This election will make history in a lot of different ways. One of the coolest side effects of this whole campaign is all of the new voters that have been registered. Record amounts of people in both party's. I have been hearing a lot lately statements like "my vote doesn't count anyways" and a lot of confusion about how the president is elected. It is a little confusing sometimes. I found this video below from Common Craft who puts out informative videos that explain things in "plain english" as they put it. Check it out!
